Atlanta’s Gucci Mane, Quavo and his group Migos stole the spotlight at the 2018 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards ceremony. The hip-hop heavyweights landed major honors including Songwriter of the Year.

Despite stiff competition, Migos managed to come up big with the ASCAP Vanguard Award while Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble” won Rap Song of the Year at the Beverly Hills event.

Atlanta’s urban music contingent had an incredible showing: R&B group XSCAPE earned the ASCAP Golden Note Award, while Atlanta’s hip-hop trailblazers Migos took the ASCAP Vanguard Award; rappers Gucci Mane and Quavo, both repping the 404, tied for Songwriter of the Year. Warner/Chappell was named Publisher of the Year for publishing 25 of last year’s biggest tracks. In addition to the main honorees, a huge range of music superstars accepted awards for writing last year’s biggest R&B/hip-hop, rap and gospel songs – from chart-topping rappers (2 Chainz, Meek Mill), to beloved singer-songwriters (Sevyn Streeter, Anthony Brown), to hit producers (Mike Will Made-It, Hitmaka), even all-time legends like Ernie Isley of the Isley Brothers. Pop superstar Bruno Mars also managed to snag a big ASCAP award.
