Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane's legal woes continue to mount as new reports claim he has pleaded guilty to an assault charge and will do six months behind bars.
According to reports, Gucci is also required to pay a fine for his crime.
The Atlanta-based rapper, whose real name is Radric Davis, was arrested in April for the January incident and charged with two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct. In addition to the jail sentence, Davis was sentenced by a DeKalb County Court judge to 30 months’ probation and ordered to pay a $3,000 fine. He must also attend a 12-week anger management course, refrain from contacting his victim and pay her medical bills, totaling more than $5,000. He was being held Tuesday in DeKalb County Jail. The rapper pleaded guilty in court and accepted his punishment.
DeKalb County Solicitor-General Sherry Boston said Tuesday that Mane, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, pleaded guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct. A police report said Davis pushed 36-year-old Diana Graham out of his Hummer as it rolled down a suburban Atlanta street on Jan. 28. (Forbes)
Last July, Gucci reflected on finally getting released from jail after his spring arrest.
‘”I got out like a day ago. First thing I did, I just got my feet planted on the ground,” Gucci revealed in an interview. “Went back to the studio, banged out about five records. I got some great writing done, I got some new hits that people need to wait on…[In] ten years, hopefully I’ll still be touring, making music, doing something that I love. Right now, rapping is the thing that I love. Maybe then, I’ll have another passion.” (Karma Loop TV)
He was finally released from jail in early July.
Gucci Mane is home- no for real this time. After a few false starts, the “Freaky Gurl” rapper was freed from Fulton County Jail early Friday morning his lawyer confirmed for RapFix. During the 4th of July weekend reports swirled that the Atlanta-based rapper was released from a three-month jail stint stemming from a probation violation, but that was not so.”Procedural holdups” delayed Gucci’s release, but today all of the legal drama is seemingly behind him.
