Gucci Mane vented on Twitter and called on President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to look into the mistreatment of prisoners on Dec. 14.

“Pooh has been sent to a prison over 1500 miles from his home, 24-hour lockdown and given empty food trays.” the new 1017 Records founder said on Twitter, where he also tagged President Biden and VP Harris.

Guwop, who had a close relationship with the Memphis rapper, also asked for an investigation into the federal United States Penitentiary in Pollock, Louisianna., where Shiesty is currently sentenced.

After pleading guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy for possessing a firearm in January 2022 for his role in an October 2020 shooting, Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty was released, according to NBC News

That following year, he was later indicted in June 2021 for his connection to a Memorial Day shooting in Miami-Dade County.

Rappers & Mistreatment Behind Bars

This isn’t the first rapper who has spoken out about the injustices prisoners have faced. In January 2020, Kodak Black went public with how harshly he was treated behind bars. The “Super Gremlin” rapper revealed he was forced to urinate and defecate on himself

In April 2020, T.I. and E-40 detailed how prisoners do not have the proper resources to combat the spread of the coronavirus during the height of the pandemic.

Kodak Black Released On $75K Bond

In June, Florida rapper Kodak Black was released from jail on a $75k bond on Saturday, July 16. He was arrested the day before on drug trafficking charges.
