Maybach Music Group leader Rick Ross‘ ex-girlfriend Lastonia Leviston is reportedly not phased over G-Unit boss 50 Cent‘s bankruptcy filing this week and is aiming to get paid in full sooner than later.
According to reports, Leviston filed a motion to request a bankruptcy court in Connecticut for relief to avoid an automatic stay, which would delay her big payday.
The motion accuses the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, of filing for Chapter 11 protection to evade testifying earlier in the day in the New York civil case, where a jury was to consider punitive damages. That jury ruled Friday that Jackson must pay Leviston after releasing without her permission a sexually explicit video she made with her boyfriend. (AP)

The jurors — 4 women, 2 men — deliberated for just over an hour before awarding Lavonia Leviston $2.5 million in damages for using her image without her permission … and another $2.5 mil for intentional infliction of emotional distress. Leviston’s lawyers argued that the rapper had leaked the tape online as a ploy for publicity, and to diss Ricky Rozay. Fifty never showed up during the trial or even for the verdict. Next week, the jury will decide on punitive damages … so Fifty’s tab could go way up. (TMZ)
Fif issued a statement on about filing for bankruptcy on Monday (July 13).
“The filing allows Mr. Jackson to reorganize his financial affairs, as he addresses various professional liabilities and takes steps to position the future of his various business interests,” says William A. Brewer III, partner at Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors, and counsel to Mr. Jackson. Mr. Jackson’s business interests will continue unaffected in the ordinary course during the pendency of the chapter 11 case. (Billboard)

TMZ has confirmed … 50 filed for bankruptcy on Monday, 3 days after Rick Ross’ baby mama won a $5 million jury verdict against him.
50 is in a world of financial hurt. A jury awarded Lavonia Leviston the $5 mil after determining the rapper intentionally leaked a sex tape in which she was featured, in order to embarrass Ross. 50 has been ordered to produce proof of income and worth so the jury can determine punitive damages. This is last minute attempt by her lawyer who knows damn well if she gets nothing, he gets nothing as well. Lawyer is trying to protect his own ass. knowing damn well that 50’s lawyers (J-unit as 50 called them) has his ass covered. These bankruptcy rules were made for rich white people by rich white people, and 50 is just taking advantage. Can’t blame him at all.

He’s going to list his assets and debts, they’re probably going to auction off some things, and his creditors are going to either settle for less from the proceeds or risk not getting paid at all.
It’s going to be hard for 50 to move forward with a flashy lifestyle for the next 7-10 years, cuz now they’re really going to monitor his income.
In the end, everybody will get paid. It’s just that now they’re going to be forced to take less.
