Former Florida neighborhood watcher George Zimmerman is once again making headlines as reports claim he is selling the gun used to kill 17-year-old teenager Trayvon Martin.
According to reports, Zimmerman posted up the gun on an auction site for $5,000 Thursday (May 12).
In a listing on the website gunbroker.com, Zimmerman writes that he is “honored and humbled” to announce the sale of the Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm firearm. Similar firearms normally sell on the site for around $200. “The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012,” he writes. Last year, hip-hop artist Azealia Banks shared her thoughts on Zimmerman.
Last year, Zimmerman retweeted a lifeless picture of Trayvon Martin on Twitter.
Though the tweet has now been deleted by Twitter officials, Zimmerman reportedly retweeted the following proclamation that he is a “one man army,” an incendiary statement maddeningly paired with a gruesome photo of Trayvon Martin’s corpse. New York Daily News got the screengrab. (Complex)
Past reports claimed George went on a Twitter rant in late September.
The man who shot and killed Martin three years ago also gave out an apparent stranger’s phone number, referring “all media inquiries” to the unsuspecting man. “Gee..I sure hate offending people that have plotted and tried to kill me and my family…” Zimmerman wrote with one tweet, with a photo matching President Obama with Virginia murderer Vester Flanagan.
