According to celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman, Zimmerman turned down over 15,000 fight requests and set his eyes on Dark Man X.

Let’s get ready to … mumble. As in, what now, George Zimmerman? Seems like the former neighborhood watchman has found yet another way to remain in the public limelight. This time, he’ll be stepping into a boxing ring to fight rapper DMX. Early Wednesday morning, Feldman said he’s picked the contender. Out of more than 15,000 e-mailed requests, he’s going with DMX. “The match will be one of the Biggest Celebrity Boxing matches of all time,” his news release said (uppercase emphasis his). But in order to find out where and when it will take place, we’ll have to wait until next week. (CNN)

A few days ago, X revealed an interest in fighting Zimmerman.

The 43-year old rapper tells TMZ … he’s throwing his name out as a potential opponent for George’s upcoming celebrity boxing gig — just like The Game? — and says he wants to do it for “every black person who has been done wrong in the system.” DMX adds, “I am going to beat the living f**k out him … I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f**k him right up.” DMX says, “Once I am done with him, I am going to whip my d**k out and piss on him … right in his muthaf**kin face.” He adds, “Zimmerman is a piece of s**t and that’s what he needs to drink.” (TMZ)

Feldman recently said Zimmerman was preparing for the fight of his life.

But according to Damon Feldman, the promoter of the event who has 55 celebrity boxing matches under his belt via his Celebrity Boxing Federation (CBF), George Zimmerman believes Game is the best opponent. “He [George Zimmerman] is open to any challengers that make sense, but he is training hard and he said ‘Game is the perfect opponent,'” Damon Feldman told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview. Damon also recently said he had rejected rapper Game’s initial offer but revealed Zimmerman was up for facing-off against X.

The Game just came on TMZ Live and formally accepted the challenge to fight George Zimmerman in the ring … but the promoter hedged, saying although Game is a front-runner, there are more than 4,700 others who want a piece of Zimmerman. The Game scoffed at promoter Damon Feldman, who said Zimmerman would be a tough opponent because he’s been heavy into boxing training. Game — who’s 6’5″ and 240 lbs — predicts a quick knockout. Damon says Zimmerman has agreed to fight DMX … and he says he’ll make a decision in a few days for the March 1 fight. (TMZ)
