West Coast rapper Game appeared in court this week and pleaded not guilty in a publicized basketball assault case.
According to reports, Game avoided the guilty plea in California Monday (December 21).
The Game has pleaded not guilty to charges filed after he was accused of punching and threatening an off-duty police officer during a basketball game. A judge ruled there was sufficient evidence for Taylor to stand trial on the charges. No trial date has been set and the 36-year-old is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 11. (Billboard)
Game caught a break in the case a few weeks ago.
During a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, one charge of criminal threats got dropped, and another threat charge was reduced from felony to misdemeanor. He’s still facing assault and battery charges — and the case will continue later this month, but for now Game’s really satisfied with his attorney, Charlie Unger. (TMZ)
Back in June, Game issued a public thank-you letter to supporters amid his publicized criminal case and jail release.
The rap heavyweight and his assistant revealed the legal situation on Instagram in early June.
