West Coast rapper Game recently discussed his expansive hip-hop career and why despite the luxury lifestyle, he does not view himself as a materialistic person.

Asked if he cares what people think, Game delved into his focus on family.

“I’m the type of n*gga if you give me a one-bedroom apartment–matter fact, two bedrooms, at least a room for my kids. Give me a two-bedroom apartment and some f*cking Internet and maybe one couch and I’m straight,” Game said in an interview. “F*ck this mansion. F*ck these cars. I would jump back in a Cutlass tomorrow, man. I don’t care about this materialistic sh*t. You can’t fit none of this in a casket.” (Complex)

He also denied the notion of ever losing his buzz or appeal with fans.

“But I don’t think there’s ever a point in my career where I fell off. All my albums are No. 1 albums. I’m just saying, I strive for perfection,” Game added. “I felt like The Documentary was perfect, I felt like Doctor’s Advocate was perfect, and I feel like Jesus Piece is perfect. I just didn’t feel like L.A.X. and R.E.D. were perfect albums by my standards. I got fans out there that will f*cking kill you if you say Doctor’s Advocate is better than the R.E.D.album. But that’s just them.” (Complex)

Known for his lavish lifestyle, Game spent $200,000 last summer on a black leather-wrapped Ferrari.

So, here we are, with a topic that might seem a bit uninteresting: a Ferrari F430, so not the latest model, wrapped in matte black, not the craziest color in the world. So, why have we chosen this one? Well, the vehicle we are talking about belongs to rapper The Game, who wanted to have his ride covered in… leather, as we found out from the adjacent Instagram pic. The job is done and now he’ll be wondering the streets of LA in his Leatherarri, on which he spent $200,000/ (EUR164,000 at the current exchange rate). (Auto Evolution)

Last month, rap star DMX spoke on swaying away from materialistic things.

“I’ve matured as a person,” the rapper tells The BoomBox. “I’ve come to terms with some harsh realities. I’ve found different things that I enjoy about life more. I seek those out more. The music is just a reflection of me growing as a person. I’ve always had the talent. God gave me that. I thank him for not taking it from me — my music is honest. I don’t talk about sh*t I don’t have. I don’t brag. I speak sincerely and I give proper consideration to everything I say.” He mentions enjoying “different things” about his life these days. After asking to clarify his statement, it’s apparent X is focused on the Simmons’ clan. “Smiles from my children, hugs from my babies,” he says of what he looks forward to. (The Boom Box)
