West Coast rapper Game has showed his love for the Cash Money family by appearing in Nicki Minaj's new "Pills N Potion" music video. #GameChanger
The new music video premiered online late Monday (June 9) evening.
In the four-and-a-half-minute clip, directed by Diane Martel (“Blurred Lines,” “We Can’t Stop”), Nicki shows a more vulnerable side, smoking a cigarette while computer-animated tears roll down her eyes. She wears bunny ears in one scene and rocks pasties in another. After starring alongside Nas and Drake in previous music videos, she enlists The Game to play her love interest. They share intimate scenes including one where Nicki holds his detached head. (Rap-Up)
Nicki premiered the highly-anticipated single last month.
After laying low for most of 2013, Nicki Minaj is gearing up for the release of her third studio album, The Pink Print. Recently, she made her presence felt with a series of teaser tracks and remixes, including “Lookin A** N*gga”, her remix of Young Thug‘s “Danny Glover”, “Chiraq”, and “Yass Bish!!”. Today, however, she returns with the proper first single from The Pink Print in “Pills N Potion”. (Consequence of Sound)
Days prior, Minaj hinted at the song’s release across social media.
“Early wed morning > RT @Tia__ox: @NICKIMINAJ can we pretty please have a release time?!,” Minaj wrote May 19 night.
“No. More like 6-9 am EST > RT @MogulMinaj_: @NICKIMINAJ are we talking Midnight Nic????”” (Nicki Minaj’s Twitter)
At the Billboard Music Awards, Minaj announced the single’s title.
The rapper unveiled the title on the red carpet of the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night (May 18), where she introduced Lorde’s performance of “Tennis Court.” Minaj also described the sound of “Pills N Potions,” which precedes her third album “The Pinkprint,” to Billboard’s Keith Caulfield.
