West Coast rapper Game is reportedly on the hook for over $30,000. New reports claim the Los Angeles native is responsible for paying the lump sum to Viacom to cover legal bills stemming from a $20 million lawsuit he recently lost.
According to reports, a judge sided with Viacom to have Game cover a grip of feeds.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the judge granted Viacom’s motion for attorney fees and ordered The Game to pay a total of $32,528.80. The company had been seeking a little over $35k, so Game got off a little easy. (The Blast)
Back in June, the hip-hop veteran had his $20 million lawsuit against Viacom dismissed.
The Game has come out the loser in his legal maneuver against Viacom. The rapper, who filed a $20 million lawsuit against Viacom last year over a contestant on his VH1 dating series “She’s Got Game,” was shot down Tuesday by a judge who granted Viacom’s motion to strike the complaint. In the suit, the rapper — real name: Jayceon Terrell Taylor — said that Priscilla Rainey was allowed on the show despite a doctor cautioning about her volatile past. (The Wrap)
Last year, Game had a new trial request rejected in a publicized $7 million sexual assault case.
A judge shot down Game’s request to reduce the damages he was ordered to pay after losing his sexual assault case … all over a technicality in how he filed the paperwork. It looks like Game didn’t “present” the motion the right way, and left out important info — like hearing dates and times … basic stuff the court needs to even consider the request. The good news for Game is he can refile the motion — so he still has a shot to state his case in court, like he originally wanted to do. (TMZ)
Back in November 2016, details surfaced about Game’s hefty legal woe.
An Illinois court ruled in favor of Priscilla Rainey, who sued Game … alleging he sexually assaulted her while shooting a reality show in 2015. A judgment was entered against him late last week for $7.13 million. During the case, the judge denied Rainey access to Game’s financial records to find out his net worth. Whatever that number is … it looks like it will be $7 mil less. We’re told Game plans to appeal. (TMZ)
