West Coast rapper Game can breathe a sigh of relief after having a couple serious charges downgraded during a court appearance this week in California.
According to reports, Game caught some big breaks in his publicized assault case stemming from a basketball game altercation.
During a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, one charge of criminal threats got dropped, and another threat charge was reduced from felony to misdemeanor. He’s still facing assault and battery charges — and the case will continue later this month, but for now Game’s really satisfied with his attorney, Charlie Unger. (TMZ)
Back in June, Game issued a public thank-you letter to supporters amid his publicized criminal case and jail release.
The rap heavyweight and his assistant revealed the legal situation on Instagram in early June.
Reports earlier this year revealed a judge issued a warrant for Game’s arrest.
The L.A. County D.A. charged Game this week with one count of making criminal threats, according to docs. The threat came when he allegedly said, “I’m going to kill you” to an off duty LAPD officer. TMZ broke the story … Game and the cop got into it back in March while they were playing in a league hoops game. Even though you can clearly see Game punch the guy in the video we obtained … he was NOT charged with battery. Our law enforcement sources point out the punch would have just been a misdemeanor — as opposed to the felony for threats. (TMZ)
