[With “Power” continuing to win fans over each weekend, G-Unit’s Rotimi, who plays “Dre” on the series, talks to SOHH about auditioning and winning a big role in season two.]
I was hip to the show but I really wasn’t a consistent watcher. I knew it was real when I told my mom I booked the audition, and my parents are Nigerian, and she says, “You’re going to be a superstar now! You are on ‘Power’!
That’s when I realized it was real, when she connected with the show.

Being a part of it, it’s a life-changing experience because coming onto a hit show already, you’re able to line your pocket. It’s like a football and basketball team, you do your job and I’m like the new kind of rookie that they just drafted so I gotta find out where I fit in with the veterans right now.
It’s a whole movement and it’s only going to keep getting better and better as episodes go on.
