[With G-Unit’s Rotimi killing it on “Power” and with his 50 Cent-assisted “Lotto” hit, group member Kidd Kidd talks to SOHH correspondent Nikita Rathod about how he fits in the clique.]
You gotta think about it, that was my introduction to Rotimi, seeing him on “Power.”
50 [Cent] was kind of playing me a few episodes and I didn’t even know he was a singer. I heard the song, “I Hit The Lotto,” I didn’t know it was him.
Because when I heard it, I wasn’t actually in the room with 50 while he was playing it. I was outside of the room so I’m hearing the song and I’m like, “Yo, the song, sounds dope,” but I never knew it was him until I met him and everything, this and that, I just knew him from ‘Power’ at the time and then we were rehearsing, I forgot what concert we had, but I knew we were rehearsing and he was at the rehearsals – like I said, I knew him from “Power” so when he grabbed the mic, it was like, ‘I just hit the lotto! Whoa, ohh, ohh, ohh.’
I said “Oh no, that’s you!? Ah man, that’s what’s up!” He’s a good actor too.
Shout-out to Rotimi, we be looking out for him. I’m trying to get him into the studio now. [Does he fit into the G-Unit family?] Yeah, of course.
As long as you got talent and you’re a down to Earth type of person, then of course you’re going to fit in around me any day.
