G-Unit head 50 Cent has something to brag about this week as his crew's new The Beauty of Independence EP has snatched up over 14,000 copies after seven days.
According to reports, the Unit’s latest offering landed at No. 17 on the Top 200 sales chart.

Despite being released as a free EP, last week estimates had The Beauty of the Independence retail version expected to land on the sales chart.
As expected, Ariana Grande will top next week’s chart, and Queen Bey may return to the Top 15 following her MTV VMAs performance. Here’s how it looks headed into the weekend:

The crew quietly released the new surprise six-track EP The Beauty Of Independence on iTunes. It appears that the newly minted 50 Cent protege Kidd Kidd is now a full-on G-Unit member, but other than that, this is the same core of guys who made Beg For Mercy, and it’s weirdly heartening to see them working together again. 50 announced an upcoming The Beast Is G-Unit compilation coming together this week.
“The Beauty is six joints. We recorded, like, thirty-eight,” Fif revealed in an interview with G-Unit. “It’s broken into two pieces. So, The Beauty is the first half. The Beauty of Independence and then The Beast Is G-Unit is the second half.” (“Los Angeles Leakers”)

It’s almost as if 50 is delaying the inevitable. By that I mean by dropping “warm up” albums, he doesn’t have to answer to whether they sell or not. 50’s fans are loyal to the core and crack me up. They are buying everything he’s selling them. When 50 was saying so and so can’t sell records, they were following that sermon. When 50 sells them some b.s. about why BISD didn’t sell, they run with that, i.e. Iovine was screwing 50 as if the latter isn’t a businessman and wants to lose money. It goes on and on with these stans.
But I must say in regards with this EP, I don’t think this a flop. I actually think it was more of getting G-Unit out there again above all else. I doubt G-Unit will sell that much records anyways but in this case, I give them a pass. I actually want to like G-Unit like I did back in ’03, but 50 and that Yayo the clown makes it impossible. Even Buck who I like is getting me nauseated kissing 50’s ass left and right. 50 really should be the one doing a mea culpa and not Buck. This just proves these rappers will do anything for money when they’re desperate. All in all, I do wish them luck. No one is really putting quality music out nowadays so if they can improve on that, I wouldn’t mind.
