The tribute will take place on June 8, with Tip “T.I.” Harris, who founded the museum, joining the celebration. Future’s contributions to the trap music genre, which began as a derivative of hip-hop in the streets of Atlanta, have earned him this coveted title.

As part of the recognition, Future will receive a custom “Trapper of the Year” ring crafted by Ice Box Jewelry. The museum will also unveil a new art exhibit dedicated to the Atlanta native’s influential career.

The Trap Music Museum serves as an interactive experience, showcasing the vibrant culture of trap music. The museum pays tribute to the trials and triumphs of leading trap music artists through art and exhibitions while providing a platform for emerging talents.

A Year Of Accomplishments

This recognition for Future comes on the heels of a highly successful year. In fact, Hendrix beat out 21 Savage, GloRilla, Latto, and Kodak Black for 2023’s fan-voted award.

In 2022, the Atlanta rapper sold his music catalog to Influence Media Partners, marking a significant milestone in his career. This strategic move solidifies the “Mask Off” rapper’s influence in the music industry and positions him for further achievements and creative endeavors.

Moreover, Future’s philanthropic efforts through his Freewishes Foundation have garnered attention. In collaboration with the 2K Foundations, the I Am A Dreamer S.T.E.A.M Lab provides educational opportunities to children. Future’s commitment to giving back to his community and empowering the next generation showcases his dedication beyond music.

In April 2022, Future released his ninth studio album, I Never Liked You, which received critical acclaim. The album features the Grammy-winning hit “Wait For U” with Drake and Tems. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, selling 222,000 album-equivalent units.

Within six months of its release, I Never Liked You achieved platinum certification by the RIAA, solidifying Future’s status as one of the industry’s leading artists.
