Atlanta rapper Future has bigger things than rap on his mind these days. The hip-hop superstar has reportedly signed on to produce Sony’s upcoming Superfly remake.

According to reports, hip-hop filmmaker Director X is behind the star-studded project and Future’s onboard to produce with some of Hollywood’s heavyweight executives.

As Deadline previously reported, Director X is officially attached to direct the remake with Trevor Jackson confirmed to star as Youngblood Priest. In addition, Mudbound and Straight Outta Compton star Jason Mitchell has signed on to co-star as Eddie, along with Lex Scott Davis as Georgia, Andrea Londo as Cynthia, Jacob Ming-Trent (Showtime’s White Famous) as Fat Freddy, and Omar Chapparo as Adalberto. Hip-hop superstar Future has come on board to produce with Joel Silver, while Steven R. Shore, son of the original film’s producer Sig Shore, will serve as an exec producer alongside Matthew Hirsch, Hal Sadoff and Aaron Auch. (Deadline)

Coincidentally, Beast Mode producer Zaytoven hit up IG this week with a shot of himself alongside Future.

A few weeks ago, Future made headlines for having to cough up bucks in a publicized lawsuit from estranged mentor Rocko.

Court docs, obtained by TMZ and filed by both sides, request a dismissal of the case. Rocko’s lawyers tell TMZ … he’s happy with the “very successful result.” The legal team wouldn’t give up an exact number. Rocko was originally seeking $10 million. Our sources say the payout is 7 figures. Future’s camp had no comment. (TMZ)
