Atlanta rapper Future isn’t putting any legal muscle on Desiigner. The hip-hop star has reportedly denied buzz about filing a copyright lawsuit against the rap newcomer over his “Panda” hit single.

While details are slim, Future has shut down the growing rumor started by Desiigner’s producer Menace.

The site reveals that Future believes the Grammy-nominated track from the G.O.O.D Music signee sounds similar to his song “F**k Up Some Commas,” while Dean says that he changed portions of the beat, which Menace told DJBooth did not happen. A representative for Future says that the claims are “not true.” (Billboard)

In a new interview, Menace said Future’s infringement case had delayed him getting paid.

“There was a situation with Future putting [an infringement] claim in because apparently, he said that ‘Panda’ sounded like ‘F*ck Up Some Commas.’ So we were just about to see the checks but there’s been a lot of delays so we won’t see anything until next year anyway,” he reveals. “Not only [Future], Mike Dean, Kanye West’s producer, he put a claim in as well saying that he did something to the beat and he never did. I don’t think we’ll see a check until probably next year. Right now, it’s just going through negotiations. The problem is that once someone puts a claim in, it just stops everything.” (DJ Booth)

Back in December, Future appeared to troll Desiigner over a publicized Ferrari lawsuit.

Hours prior, reports emerged about a rental company suing Desiigner for $500,000.

According to docs … the friends gave Desiigner permission to drive the whip, and then he crashed it in NJ. The car’s valued at $220k, but the company’s suing for more than $500k because they say they’re going to lose out on future rental money — as in $1,599 per day. The docs also included a cryptic tweet, supposedly from Desiigner, saying, “If you have a luxury car you better know how to drive.” The rental company thinks it’s a confession, but we checked and the account doesn’t look like it belongs to Desiigner. Last summer, Desiigner downplayed the Internet’s widespread Future comparisons.

“My style, my funk, my performance, my charisma. The way I deliver my songs. That’s what makes me different. I stay humble. The second you see me on stage doing my thing, you know I’m not like the rest. I stay crazy.” (Interview)
