Weeks after going at music mogul Jay Z's neck publicly, New York radio veteran Funkmaster Flex has provided an update on his standing with Young Hov.

In a new interview with GQ, Flex revealed his main issue with Jay stemmed from him attempting to reach out via an all-CAPS everything text message.

“I think sometimes people forget I have a rule if you’re an on-air personality or a rapper. You’re allowed to come at me three times. And I count them. One, all good. There’s two, all good. You ever notice, people never call me a bully? But I bait you, cause the first and second time, they go, “This dude’s soft. Flex is soft.” And the third time they go, “Oh my God, this guy is lashing out on me.”” (GQ)

Flex also assured concerned fans his feud with Hov was over but said he would be ready if things once again turned ugly.

“You know what? I’m past it if he’s past it. But—and you can go to print with this—should he say anything about me in an interview, I’m going to fire off that night. The choice is really his. I’m going to come 150. He only felt 100. He’ll feel 150. Any slick punch line, any slick interviews—we’re gonna do what we do. We’re gonna spar.” (GQ)

Funk Flex posted up a picture of what looked like a text message from Jay Z onto Instagram last month.

Days prior, Flex went off on Jay Z’s popular Life + Times lifestyle website.

“A couple years ago, dropped that DJ Funk Flex app. I get an email from a writer at Life + Times, the website. They want to talk to me about my digital involvement and write a story. First of all, I salute the young man who wrote the story. I appreciate the love, but bruh I’mma tell you something. I peeped back then when they was using a writer outside that did not work for the website. And that website is trash by the way. And I figured I’d say that trash so you take me serious on where I’m going. They do this interview after I drop my app. Asking me a lot of key questions about apps, building apps, how, why, how’d you launch it. But all of that didn’t get put in the story though. A lot of that information got put into that new Jay Z app.” (Hot 97)
