According to reports, J’s new album has easily crushed its competition atop the sales chart.
Dreamville/Roc Nation/Interscope’s J. Cole has soared to #1 on the HITS Top 50 Chart with approximately 395k for new full-length KOD. This marks the biggest bow of the year so far, surpassing Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods by more than 100k. Cole has also become the third artist in history to collect more than 300m streams for an album in one week, behind Drake and Kendrick Lamar. (HITS Daily Double)
Last week, J. Cole treated fans to a rare Q&A Twitter session.

Aside from the fact that they 🔥🔥🔥. Hook the most addictive part of music. KOD. If a chorus by nature is a drug, the right repetitive hook is like crack. Cheap, but get you high as fuck https://t.co/hU5DtpGtRy
— J. Cole (@JColeNC) April 26, 2018
@JColeNC Is there a deeper meaning or symbolism behind the repetitive hooks?
— Allaf (@AymanAllaf7) April 26, 2018
KOD deluxe will be album in its original 2 week form. Plus couple extra scenes that didn't make final cut. https://t.co/ruT2p28ovl

@JColeNC Do you have any tracks that didn't make the cut that we might hear along the way? #KOD
— Conor 🇮🇪 (@conyac420) April 26, 2018
While in Zanzibar workin' on one of the songs, maybe window pain, I asked myself what is the name of this album that I just fucked around and made. KOD came immediately. "What the fuck do that mean?" I asked. the 3 meanings followed in seconds. In tune. https://t.co/fChUwQ7vFT
