I have a lot of love and respect for Drake.

I’ve actually never been able to see him. We’ve met energetically and sonically because music permeates sound. He’s very intelligent and a smart businessman. You can see the different revenue streams and talent he has. With Drake, you have a producer. With Drake, you have an actor. With Drake, you have a singer. With Drake, you have an entertainer. With Drake, you get a lot of different things with him. He’s very much multi-talented.

Bigs up to his mentor and my brother, Jamie Foxx. He saw that and was blessed by that. He can give you whatever you want. The brother can sing, he can spit 16 with the most gully of rappers, he can come around and host “Saturday Night Live” and then do his thing with the hosting on the ESPY’s. He’s a great example of a lot of young talents. It’s not always about the music, it’s about the music business.

We have a longstanding relationship with Big Daddy Kane and when this project came together, a dear friend of ours who works in Full Force, I called her and said, “We need someone else.” She told me, “I got Big Daddy Kane.” I made a few calls and Kane received the track and was like, “This is something new for me.” He really loved it and I can’t wait to bring that one to life. To have him involved on this new project, it really is a blessing.

We want the music to speak for itself but not only for itself. We want people to see the music but the challenge is with everyone’s schedules. It’s about getting everyone together. I would say 75 percent of this album was recorded with everyone wherever they were. That’s the beauty about being with platinum-level artists. You don’t always have to be in the studio with everyone. You can do what you do and get a little bit of this and a little bit of that so everyone can just send it in. With a music video, that takes a little bit more time. We’re finishing up our video for our “Feel Good, Look Good, God Good.” We’re going to keep working and working.
