Bad Boy Entertainment’s French Montana recently discussed his new Wave Gods music release and shared his thoughts on rap star Kanye West‘s publicized Twitter tirades.
In French’s opinion, Kanye is simply saying what a lot of musicians are too scared to public mention.
“Actually, Kanye didn’t really know who Max B is,” French said referring to Yeezy recently planning on naming his The Life Of Pablo album Waves. “Which was kind of strange to me when me and him was talking. But, once I gave him the homework behind everything, we got it together. [Twitter runs?] You know, I come from that era. I do want to call him and tell him to do more. [laughs] You know, he’s the voice of our generation. His impact is crazy. Sometimes, you know, he’s saying what a lot of people are scared to say. I’ve been talking to Kanye like everyday. I feel like the things he’s trying to do is what every artist [wants to do].” (Hot 97)
Heading into the weekend, rap star 50 Cent shared his thoughts on Yeezy’s Twitter presence as of late.
“That’s not it, he’s just emotional right now,” 50 said in an interview. “It boils over. It’s not marketing. How long before you get frustrated? You can look at it and say, ‘This is what he does to get our attention. This is all people take note of.’ Because when he’s doing it and it doesn’t seem like a rant, like when he’s just saying it, don’t nobody hear it. It’s not until he’s frustrated and then he says some wild sh*t then – it’s like ‘I’m the greatest artist ever.’ – the awards shows should also take credit for the production of Kanye West. They produced that. At the time, they were so afraid of the gangster energy they wanted that. When that spins out of control, keep it. Don’t try to act like you don’t want it. Kanye’s mother-in-law Kris Jenner is reportedly concerned about him.
West’s team met with a host of top publicists within the last few months — but nobody is brave enough to work with him. A source said, “His Twitter rants are out of control, and Kris fears that he’s taking the family down. Kris wants Kanye to hire someone to handle all the noise and drama so he can focus on being an artist.” But the response from the p.r. world was deafeningly silent. One top publicist who was approached told us, “You couldn’t pay us enough to represent Kanye. He’s too much to handle.” (Page Six)
West’s celebrity wife Kim Kardashian is reportedly concerned about his well-being.
A source tells PEOPLE that, while “Kim is a very supportive wife” and “rarely complains,” she’s not a fan of the social media sagas. Though Kim keeps a level head about most of her husband’s eccentric behavior, says the source: “What causes friction in the marriage, however, is Kanye’s compulsive tweeting. Kim can’t stand it. She is all for self-promotion, but doesn’t approve of Twitter drama.” (People)
