Bad Boy Records’ French Montana has weighed-in on the now-defunct feud between Drake and Meek Mill and explained why it did not live up to his own expectations.
In French’s opinion, he thought Meek would have the upper hand in the hip-hop battle.
“I’m just glad it’s not real beef. It’s just something for the fans. It’s great for the whole hip-hop thing. Honestly, I was [surprised at Drake’s responses] and then I wasn’t. Drake is one of the best in the era – the best out of ‘our’ generation. But man, I thought Meek was gonna slay him. But then Drake just came with that ‘Back to Back.’ I feel like it could have went back to back even though after that but Meek was taking too long.” (Hot 97)
State Property’s Beanie Sigel weighed in on the Drake/Meek Mill situation last week on social media.

State Property’s Neef Buck recently talked about the Meek Mill and Drake feud.
“That’s where I think these new rappers go wrong at. Just holding motherf*ckers up to higher standards than they really are. At the end of the day, just because you’re a good rapper or make good music and you’re popping right now doesn’t mean you’re a solid n*gga.” (“Mikey T The Movie Star”)
In a now-deleted social media post, Meek Milly recently came clean on wanting to move away from Drake feud.
