Bad Boy Entertainment’s French Montana made sure to pay homage to the memory of late hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur on his 45th birthday this week.
Montana jumped on Instagram and credited Pac’s 1996 All Eyez on Me album for significantly impacting his life.
Yesterday (June 17), coincidentally, the late rap icon’s All Eyez on Me biopic trailer premiered online.
This week, rap veteran Game co-signed the upcoming movie release.
“Eh, I’m proud of the homie Benny Boom. I’m proud for Pac – I’m proud for being from the West Coast,” Game said. “That 2Pac movie is the real deal. Sh*t make that Biggie movie look like a cartoon. I don’t mean no [disrespect] but hey. That’s what it is, homie.”
“Walking Dead” actresses Danai Gurira and Lauren Cohan joined the growing cast earlier this year.
Earlier this week Danai Gurira signed on to play Afeni Shakur in the film, and now she’ll be joined by Lauren Cohan, who’s best known for her role as Maggie on AMC’s hit zombie show. Cohan will portray Leila Steinberg, an early mentor of Tupac. Benny Boom is directing All Eyez, which stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. as the influential hip-hop artist. Production is underway on the movie, which does not yet have a release date. (Entertainment Weekly)
