Bad Boy Entertainment’s French Montana has provided fans with an update on his long-awaited Mac & Cheese studio album.

Despite multiple setbacks, Montana is certain the delayed release will live up to the extended wait.

While there’s no official single from Mac & Cheese, Montana has been mulling over the idea of an A-side and B-side throwback single release for “Figure It Out” featuring ‘Ye and Nas or “Lock Jaw” with Kodak Black from Wave Gods. In conjunction with his label announcement, Montana even released the “Figure It Out” video, directed by Eif Rivera. With a new label home for Mac & Cheese, it’s only a matter of time until the “Coke Wave” returns. “Just get ready for the tsunami,” he says. “Things are about to get real.” (Billboard)

Last year, French talked about what had delayed the studio release.

“I wanted to make sure that I was putting the right product out for me, but something that makes everybody happy at the same time. [I’m] coming off my first album, and a few years [of] not putting [anything] out and still being on everybody’s single. From J.Lo, to working with Jay Z, to Miley Cyrus, will.i.am, those are experiences that let people who don’t know who French Montana is see my talent. I figure this time people know who French Montana is so I can give them my own product.” (Billboard)

A couple years ago, Montana said the long-awaited solo effort would likely arrive in December 2014.

“Yeah, I’m fully completed,” French said when asked about the album’s progress. “Right now I’m just trying to clear a sample. I got Harry Fraud. He did the whole joint. I’m just trying to clear a sample right now. They’re saying December 16 for now. The label. [laughs]” (“Sway In The Morning”)

Montana previously confirmed rap star Kanye West‘s efforts on his official sophomore studio release and co-signed his greatness.

He has been in the studio with Khloe’s brother-in-law, Kanye West, who is executive producing Mac & Cheese. “Kanye was somebody that I was supposed to sign with when I first came in the game,” said French. “I have nothing but respect for him. He’s a legend, he’s an icon. I just feel like he has that Mac & Cheese sound, that soul food sound.” (Rap-Up)
