Bad Boy Records’ French Montana is finally coming forward to clear the air. The New York rapper has addressed his headline-generating home robbery in California.

Montana went to Instagram Friday (August 3) and explained why he didn’t rush online to update people on his condition.

Earlier in the week, buzz developed about local neighbors possibly lending a helping hand to nab Montana’s attackers.

Even though the neighborhood is so exclusive, it has had issues in the past. The previous owner of Montana’s home, Selena Gomez, frantically called 911 in 2015 after a stalker repeatedly showed up at the property. Other messages on the community board also warn neighbors to be on the lookout for suspicious activity. One specific post from April warns residents of a man pretending to sell cleaning supplies and claims he has been “driving up and down our street.” (The Blast)

According to reports, Montana fell victim to at least two armed robbers on Tuesday.

Law enforcement sources tell us they got a call to French’s crib around 9 AM. We’re told the crime happened several hours before that, but it wasn’t reported until later. French and an unknown number of people were home at the time. It’s unclear if anyone in the home was injured, but we know no one required hospitalization. We don’t know what, if anything, the robbers took … cops are still investigating and don’t have any suspects yet. (TMZ)

Recently, West Coast rapper Game extended his hand after rapper Rich The Kid suffered injuries from his Los Angeles armed robbery attack.

“Ayo, you know what’s up, man? You know what Rich The Kid need? Rich The Kid needs to call me, bro. You see I’m out here. I’m 6’5, 260 [pounds], everything is where it’s supposed to be. Pulling up in the red Bentley, got the Dodgers hat on, this is Los Angeles, you feel me? Rich The Kid needs to holler at me. Motherf*ckers out here doing home invasions, beating up him and his girl. Man, call Game, all that sh*t disappears bro.” (TMZ)
