New York rapper French Montana‘s music video tribute to late hip-hop artist Chinx came to a swift end this weekend with drug and weapons-related arrests in Brooklyn.
According to reports, various hip-hop stars including Busta Rhymes, Juelz Santana, N.O.R.E. and Ja Rule were on-set when the bust went down Saturday (May 30).
Three men and two women — including the set security guard — were facing weapons and drug charges after plainclothes cops infiltrated the shoot behind a Fulton St. Bravo Supermarket in East New York at about 6:15 p.m. and spotted the illegal hardware, officials said. Cocaine, marijuana and molly were also discovered, officials said. (NY Daily News)

Family members and friends paid homage to Chinx at a funeral service in New York last Tuesday (May 26).
Family and friends are gathering Tuesday to bid a final farewell to a Queens rapper who was murdered in his car. Lionel Pickens, 31, was shot and killed May 17 in a drive-by shooting. Services are being held at the Greater Allen AME Cathedral of New York in Jamaica. (ABC 7)
Chinx’s cousin Norman Seabrook, head of a corrections officers union, spoke out during the funeral service.
“Violence has hit home,” he said after the service, as the rapper’s coffin was being loaded into a hearse. “He’s a kid who turned his life around and he gets assassinated. The police are doing a good job. Let’s hope they catch somebody.” (NY Daily News)
