According to reports, the gunfire took place in Brooklyn over an alleged feud.

Hip Hop star Freddie Gibbs, who just performed at a record store called Rough Trade, claimed he was the intended target when shots were fired while he was sitting in a black GMC Denali at North 9th Street near Wythe Avenue. “They tried to kill Tupac. They tried to kill me,” Gibbs told The Post outside the club. “I’m still alive.” (NY Post)

Gibbs’ crew took gunshot wounds to their legs and hands.

A law enforcement source said a single gunman stalked the victims, who are believed to be two members of Gibbs’ entourage, and opened fire at 1:13 a.m. One victim was hit in the leg attack, and the other in the had. Neither were seriously wounded, police said. After the bullets flew, Gibbs ducked into Rough Trade for cover, he said. Both victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital and listed in stable condition. Police did not identify the victims. (NY Post)

Over the summer, rap star Jeezy spoke on his publicized feud with Gibbs

“I put him on a song with Eminem. I put him on a song with T.I. I put him on numerous mixtapes that I had. I took him on tour. Took him around the world. I spent money on videos that he didn’t use cause he didn’t like em. And it wasn’t his money. So, at the end of the day my whole thing was to him was ‘I took you to every label in the game. They don’t wanna sign you. I don’t have no reason–I love you. … I think your music is dope, but they don’t want to sign you.'” (“The Truth”)

Earlier this year, Freddie admitted he wanted Jeezy to man up and issue an apology over doing him dirty in the past.

“I’ll beat his a** in my church shoes,” Gibbs says, but he’s half joking. “If he just apologized it’d be all over with. It’s not that deep.”) “That’s one of the only mistakes of my career,” he says about his signing to CTE. “I loved Jeezy so much, diehard fan. I looked at the musical possibilities–if we were together, d*mn, we would make such great music. (Noisey)
