According to Gibbs, he did not share the same vision as the “Snowman” which ultimately led to their split.

“I can’t really say it was amicable. I could just say that we agreed to disagree. We definitely disagreed. The guy moves in a different way that I move, and I just wanted to branch out and do my own thing. I felt like I was wasting time pushing someone else’s brand when I could push my own and do my own thing. Because that’s was what he was concerned with, pushing Jeezy. So I gotta be concerned with pushing Gibbs.” (“The Morning Riot”)

Jeezy confirmed Freddie’s exit in mid-December despite handfuls of collaborations together.

“Freddie is a talented artist and I decided that it’s time to press reset on my career and business ventures,” said Jeezy in a statement. “I have no doubt that Freddie will go on to be everything I believe he can be, and I wish him the best in his career.” (Rap-Up)

Prior to YJ’s comments, Gibbs stepped up to announce his unexpected departure.

“It was a mutual decision,” Gibbs revealed in an interview. “It was a number of things [that made me leave], but like I said, at the end of the day it was a good decision for myself and my family. It wasn’t nothing against him or none of that. It’s just moves that I had to make, personally, and business-wise. Like I said, it’s all love — I got a lot going on so it’s all good. … I got a new deal in the works, so everything’s good for me. As long as nobody diss me, there ain’t no diss record coming. As long as I ain’t disrespected and I don’t feel disrespected in no way, then it’s all good.” (“The Breakfast Club”)

Weeks later, hip-hop artist Scrilla followed in Fred’s footsteps by leaving Jeezy’s camp.

“I want to take the time to say its been a learning experience working with CTE. no hard feelings but its time for me to do me,” he tweeted December 31st. (Scrilla’s Twitter)
