Barring any setbacks, Foxy will once again rise to the mainstream before the New Year arrives.

Just last week, rumors were swirling that Foxy Brown has a new project and is gearing to drop it soon. Well, it appears that the rumors are true and Foxy is back in the studios. Foxy has issued the following statement to XXL: “In light of a recent tragic loss and time constraints; as a team we’ve decided to reschedule our date to CHRISTMAS EVE.” The Brooklyn Native hasn’t put out a project since the 2008 street album Brooklyn’s Don Diva. Buzz behind comeback album plans bubbled across the Internet last week.

It has been quite some time since we’ve heard the name Foxy Brown in a positive light. However, insiders are stating to me that Foxy Brown is done with all the weave scandals and all the foolishness. I heard she has completed a new album and is all set to release it to the world. I’m not sure what she will be talking about, but I am hearing it will have a much more mature tone, potentially spiritual. Lets see! (AHH Rumors)

Although Foxy held back on the details, she did name-drop Neptunes hitmaker Pharrell Williams regarding a project in August.

It was only right that MTV invite some of Brooklyn’s own to their first VMAs in the borough. Before VIBE wrapped up on the red carpet and went inside for the big show, Foxy Brown made a late appearance on her way in. While we only had a few minutes to chat, Fox let us in on a special studio session. “It’s surreal,” Fox says about Brooklyn’s first VMAs. “I just left the studio, actually, but that’s a surprise. But you seen my boy Pharell, right? Hint hint!” Foxy plans to release a new mixtape later this year. (VIBE)

Recently, the Don Diva admitted it would take a lot to make her part ways with her Def Jam label.

“There have been offers, of course. I’ve only been signed to one label my entire career, which is Def Jam.” The rapper in fact signed a distribution deal with E1 Music in 2007 for her Black Rose Entertainment label, but failed to put out an LP during its duration. “My bar is set so high that any label that I go to now has to be an incredible situation for me — financially and spiritually,” Brown said. “I’m on this whole maturation journey; I’m a different person.” The 34-year-old’s fourth studio album, tentatively titled Bandz Up, is in the early stages of recording, though she did debut a title track back in July at a live show for NYC Pride at El Morocco. “I just picked the mic back up,” she revealed. ” ‘Bandz Up’ was the first record that I did.” (MTV)
