The unexpected new track surfaced online Tuesday (December 24) afternoon.

Ill Na Na is back stirring up mischief as she drops a snippet of a new song called “D.R.U.G.Z.” that will appear in full on DJ Superstar Jay‘s upcoming mixtape, How Superstar Jay Stole Exclusives. “I don’t pop molly, I rock the crown though,” raps Foxy on the new track, and it conjures up the possibility that she’s going at Jigga. We’ll have to wait until the full version drops to find out, but stream the 90-second snippet. (VIBE)

The Don Diva showcases her lyrical wrath and also mentions her label status on the teaser.

“Back up in this b*tch like, ‘Whoa!’,” Foxy raps. “This ain’t an official top ten if I ain’t mentioned/People want to know who I’m signed with/I say the grind n*gga, the streets is on consignment … In the Phantom looking like drugs, fly through with the Louis Vuitton bottoms…” (“DRUGZ”)

Despite an urge to release a full-length album as soon as possible, Foxy recently said she did not want to rush out her comeback.

Earlier in the month it was reported that Foxy Brown will drop a new album on Christmas Eve. However, today Foxy and her camp clarified. Foxy wrote to XXL, “I set the bar; so as a die hard perfectionist I’m no where near finished my new album. My rollout alone has to be bigger than life. I couldn’t do it any other way!” While there will not be a new album dropping from the Brooklyn native on Christmas Eve, she will still have something coming up for her fans. Fox, on Christmas Eve, will instead drop “new music and video for the streets while finishing the recording of her 4th studio album.” (XXL Mag)

Buzz behind comeback album plans bubbled across the Internet in early November.

It has been quite some time since we’ve heard the name Foxy Brown in a positive light. However, insiders are stating to me that Foxy Brown is done with all the weave scandals and all the foolishness. I heard she has completed a new album and is all set to release it to the world. I’m not sure what she will be talking about, but I am hearing it will have a much more mature tone, potentially spiritual. Lets see! (AHH Rumors)

Although Foxy held back on the details, she did name-drop Neptunes hitmaker Pharrell Williams regarding a project in August.

It was only right that MTV invite some of Brooklyn’s own to their first VMAs in the borough. Before VIBE wrapped up on the red carpet and went inside for the big show, Foxy Brown made a late appearance on her way in. While we only had a few minutes to chat, Fox let us in on a special studio session. “It’s surreal,” Fox says about Brooklyn’s first VMAs. “I just left the studio, actually, but that’s a surprise. But you seen my boy Pharell, right? Hint hint!” Foxy plans to release a new mixtape later this year. (VIBE)
