Video game company 2K Sports is upping the ante for its highly-anticipated NBA 2K16 title by adding mega hip-hop producers DJ Khaled, DJ Mustard and DJ Premier to its release.

The game, which arrives September 29, will feature each regional deejay’s own curated playlist.

2K16’s soundtrack will be comprised of six in-game playlists, including three lists individually curated by each producer, an international “Around the World” playlist, the 2K Classics Mixtape featuring fan favorites from previous 2K titles, and a master playlist that includes all 50 tracks from this year’s selection. DJ Khaled has confirmed the major news with a few Instagram posts Thursday (July 9).

Buzz about famous movie director Spike Lee joining the NBA 2K16 team surfaced last month.

Spike Lee is blending his passion for storytelling with his mania for hoops as the directorial force behind the next version of the popular basketball video game NBA 2K16. The filmmaker’s latest Spike Lee Joint, announced Thursday on the eve of the NBA Finals between Golden State and Cleveland, aims to add realism to the game’s interactive feature, MyCareer, which introduces gamers to the social and business challenges of professional sports. Lee recently dished on what fans could expect from the upcoming title.

Lee said the game’s story centers on a basketball player named Frequency Vibrations, whose personal exploits off the court are just as chaotic as the game on it. “It’s about the trials and tribulations of life on a big stage with the money, fame, temptations, family members, the press, fans, all that stuff,” said Lee.
