Music mogul Jay Z has expanded his star-studded Roc Nation company with a huge signing and by adding a Latin division to the growing entertainment powerhouse.

Singer Romeo Santos signed to Jay’s roster today (June 8) and will head Roc Nation Latin.

Roc Nation Latin will focus on developing and cultivating Latin artists in all aspects of their careers, both in the U.S. and globally. Santos’ longtime manager, Johnny Marines, has been named president. In addition, the deal, inked June 8 in Roc Nation’s New York offices, makes Santos an exclusive management client of Roc Nation, co-managed with Marines. (Billboard)

Santos jumped onto his Instagram page Wednesday (June 8) with the headline-generating news.

Romeo has made a name for himself with high-profile hip-hop collaborations.

Previously, Romeo Santos began his career with bachata band Aventura, before rising to international stardom as a solo act. He has scored more No. 1 hits on the Billboard charts than any other Latin act in the last decade, and has collaborated with Drake, Nicki Minaj, Pitbulll, Lil Wayne, and Usher. (The FADER)

The news comes hours after singer Rita Ora parted ways with Roc Nation.

Rita Ora and Jay Z’s Roc Nation have officially parted ways, following a lawsuit filed last year describing an “orphaned relationship” between the British singer and the label, which issued a counterclaim a month later. A source confirms to Billboard that Ora has signed with Warner Music, though specifics of the deal have not been disclosed. Requests to Roc Nation for confirmation of a settlement between Ora and the company were not returned. (Billboard)
