Bad Boy Records head Diddy may need to call up the best lawyer money can buy after being arrested Monday (June 22) on an assault charge.
According to reports, the incident went down at California’s UCLA college campus.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Diddy allegedly attacked the coach with a kettlebell weight. He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon … a felony. Our UCLA sources tell us Diddy confronted Strength and Conditioning Coach Sal Alosi while Alosi was on the phone. We’re told Diddy was told to “hang on” but he wasn’t having it and picked up a kettlebell and swung it, narrowly missing Alosi. One source said if Diddy had connected it could have killed Alosi. Reports claim the attack stemmed from the coach’s treatment of Diddy’s son Justin Combs, who plays for the UCLA football team.
We’re told Campus Police took the music mogul into custody early Monday afternoon. Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, is a defensive back on the team. We’re told the fight went down at the UCLA athletic facility. One source says a strength and conditioning coach was screaming at Justin on the field during a strength and conditioning session. We’re told the coach “was riding Justin, screaming intensely at him.” Diddy watched the whole thing from the sideline. (TMZ)
Justin’s head coach issued a statement following the arrest.
“I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation,” Bruins head coach Jim Mora said in a statement. “This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.” (Statement)
This past weekend, Diddy posted up a picture alongside his son for Father’s Day.
