Canadian hip-hop artist Tory Lanez has stepped forward to put a quick end to speculation of possibly landing on rap publication XXL Magazine‘s Freshman Class cover.

Tory hopped onto his Twitter page and put an immediate stop to the cover hype heading into the weekend.

Recently, Tory made headlines for allegedly responding to rap star Drake’s “Summer Sixteen” reference with his “Line Up The Flex” single.

“F*ck them ni**as that was hating on me, even though a ni**a used to tell ’em all,” Tory raps. “I was never ever gang, gang, gang, gang, I was One Umbrella Mob.” This is a direct response to Drake’s “Summer Sixteen” line that features a similar lyric: “You was never gang, gang, gang, gang, you was never one of us / Had us fooled for a minute there, now we done all grow’d up.” (Rap-Up)

Recently, Lanez spoke on Young Money’s Drake keeping his eyes on his movement.

“I’m just a young kid. Me personally, I don’t think I’m even hot enough to be getting dissed. But hey, at the end of the day he must look at me as a threat. The music is appealing and I don’t know why he did it, but more blessings to him.” (Shade 45)

According to reports, Drake may have went at Lanez on “Summer Sixteen.”

Tory Lanez and Drake have a strange relationship. Late last year, Tory dropped a mixtape called The New Toronto that seemed to poise him as the next star from T. Dot. Drake must have heard about the news, because months later he referenced the mixtape on his “Summer Sixteen” single: “All you boys in the new Toronto want to be me a little,” he says at the start of his second verse.
