[With his new “The Last Ronin” album coming soon, hip-hop veteran Fong Sai U counts down the days to its release by weighing in on daily hot topics with SOHH. Today, Fong gives his insight on the Drake and D.R.A.M. “Cha Cha” drama.]

OK I say it time and time again, you can pay homage to someone without taking their style or copying a producer.

In this day and age it’s like it’s cool to sound like someone else. If you’ve ever seen Cadillac Records you see the part where lil Walter saw someone stealing his name and doing shows and he killed them because they were taking food out of their mouth.

That sh*t is serious especially when it’s an up and coming artist and he gets his sh*t jacked before he had a chance to blow up like the “Hotline Bling” joint with Drake that sounds like “Cha Cha” by D.R.A.M.

Even if it’s two different places where they got it from, D.R.A.M. had his song out first and now people think he came after Drake’s joint. For those that don’t know any better it sucks.

Yesterday I saw the Migos say they don’t credit for that style they invented. That’s because you didn’t know that was Lord Infamous, may he rest in peace.

Sh*t, it’s the Wild Wild West out here when it comes to taking n*ggas beats and style so be careful. Since this is cutting into my beat-making time I have to plug my engineer tracks at Groove Etates Studio. If you want that fire that’s where you go. It’s in Cali but back to the program, I think taking people’s styles is wack.

What do you think?
