[After recently dropping his Going Up EP to popular acclaim, hip-hop artist Flawless Real Talk talks to SOHH about relying on music mogul Jay Z’s motivational words to lead off the project’s intro.]

It was important to set the tone with the “Worked Too Hard” song because as we strive and the success begins to get to a certain level, I want people to understand.

It was just so brilliant with what Jay Z said as far as the situations. I felt it was a message I want my kids to hear now so that way they could understand that the music is never going to change.

Situations might change but who we are and what we believe in and represent will never change.

That’s kind of the message I wanted to go with at the start of the album. It was only right to do that and very inspiring to have that put there.
