[With his new Going Up EP in steady rotation, Rhode Island native Flawless Real Talk tells SOHH he’s dropping fresh tunes every six weeks, says Jay Z’s TIDAL has a slight edge in the streaming war and explains the importance of respecting every entertainment powerhouse.]

My decision to start putting out new music every six weeks came from me stepping back and checking out how music’s being consumed with streaming and everything going on.

It’s more accessible and if fans aren’t listening to you, they’re listening to somebody else. So it’s my job to keep content coming and fresh content always on the horizon to always keep my fans interested and engaged in what I’m doing.

I feel like the six-week mark allows me to get into the studio, create the project and still have a couple of weeks to promote it and get it out to the people.

Then after a few, there will be a lot of music out there for the people to consume. I want people to have tons of new music to discover.

TIDAL is actually a little more for the artist as far as streaming-wise and as far as the artists getting a little more of the royalties.

But any streaming platform that allows our music to be available is great for us. We suggest everybody to stream my music on whatever platform is best for them and that’s why we make it available everywhere.

Our main goal is to get the music out everywhere and to make sure it’s heard. We never really prefer a certain platform but instead aim to have people go there and check it out.

We want to get out music on as many platforms as possible.
