Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav continues to fight the power after getting busted for a fifth straight year over pounds of fireworks he had for Fourth of July festivities. #CantFoolEm
According to reports, Flav dropped nearly $10,000 on fireworks for this past Independence Day.
Flav — who has been getting his fireworks shows busted up since 2009 — had thousands of dollars of fireworks confiscated and received two citations. According to one report, it took a special unit to come dispose of the fireworks … which weighed over 1,000 pounds. As TMZ first reported, Flav had over $8,000 worth of fireworks last year … but the cops quickly came and shut that down. (TMZ)
Earlier this year, Flavor broke sad news about his mother’s passing to the masses.
“Hey everybody I just lost my mother Anna Drayton thismorning newyears eve she passed away and I’m gonna miss her. She lived good a good life,” Flav tweeted December 31.
“Thank you to everyone that’s sending me blessings about my Momz ,,, I appreaceate you all of you so much from me and my family FLAVOR FLAV” (Flavor Flav’s Twitter)
A somber message acknowledging the unfortunate passing surfaced onto Public Enemy’s Facebook page.

Various musicians sent their condolences to Flav following the news.
Other condolences and tributes came from Salt-N-Pepa, Bootsy Collins and Full Force member Lou “Bowlegged Lou” George, who penned a heartfelt message on Facebook. “On behalf of Full Force, we would like to send prayers of condolences to our good friend William Drayton aka Flavor Flav & his family on the passing of his beloved mother Anna who passed on New Year’s Eve,” George wrote. “She was a wonderful & sweet person who is now up in heaven wearing Gods wings.
