[After an impressive Marvel x Five Four Club pop-up shop launch in New York City this past week, Five Four creative director Andres Izquieta tells SOHH how the comic book enthusiast's dream turned into a reality.]
Marvel approached us about nine or ten months ago. At first I was just kind of surprised and then we started talking to them about what we do and they loved the idea.
Then we told them we could do something to the Five Four aesthetic, the Five Four style. I’ve been a collector of comics since I was a child and I was a big Marvel fan and have always been a fan of the films.

I always thought what they were wearing in their regular superhero form was super cool. You would never see that kind of product in-stores. You would always see graphic-y kinds of stuff.
So I wanted to do something more to the form of my aesthetic to something I would personally wear.
That’s how it really came together. We sketched the collection in about a week or so and gave it to them. They got onboard with it and now we’re here.
