New Jersey rapper Fetty Wap recently talked about his health condition following a publicized motorcycle accident last fall.
Fetty credited the nasty crash for helping him slow down from promoting his self-titled album.
“I just feel like I hit the breaks too slow, it happens. My way of looking at it was, everybody fall, but everybody not Fetty Wap, you know what I’m saying? And I kept going because I got my fans. People fall and hurt themselves way worse than I did so I’m blessed that I only broke my leg in three places rather than losing a leg. I think I can live with that. Recently, I started walking on my own. Even though I should’ve, I didn’t do the physical therapy. I wasn’t about it, at that time. When I go onstage, that’s my physical therapy. … That was my break. Kind of a forced break. I had to chill, but I want to say probably the second week I was able to walk I was doing shows again. So I didn’t really get like a break-break. It was just like, “aight, I’m alright.” (XXL Mag)
Last fall, Fetty addressed the serious crash on his Instagram page.
A few weeks ago, Wap revealed the seriousness of a recent motorcycle injury on Instagram.
Wap’s management issued a statement on his condition after the injury news went viral last October.
UPDATE: Fetty Wap’s management has released a statement on the accident. “Fetty Wap was involved in a motorcycle incident earlier today,” a representative wrote to Rolling Stone. “He was treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition. His family wants to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support. They ask that you respect their privacy during this time. We will provide an update on his condition as it becomes available.” (Rolling Stone)
