Young Money rapper Drake has reportedly landed a new business venture with fashion mogul Tom Ford‘s Lips & Boys collection.
According to reports, Drizzy and fellow actor Jake Gyllenhaal have new lipsticks named after them coming out next month.
The beauty experts at Tom Ford are launching the second installment of the Lips & Boys collection, an extensive line of 50 lipsticks all named for significant men in Mr. Ford’s life, E! News has learned. The lipsticks, which fetch $52 a pop, will hit stores on Black Friday, meaning just in time to make the cut for any Drake or Jake fanatics on your holiday shopping list this year. Drizzy’s new music video has sparked huge sales for Moncler jackets.
Domenico Galluccio, a Moncler spokesman, told VF.com that on Tuesday, its Web site sold more than double the number of jackets Drake wore than it typically does on a regular day. “We had a great result on the e-commerce sale of the Maya model,” he said. The Maya retails for $1,150. (Vanity Fair)
In a previously unreleased The FADER cover story, Drizzy detailed the song’s origin.
“You know, like in Jamaica, you’ll have a riddim and it’s like, everyone has to do a song on that. Imagine that in rap, or imagine that in R&B. Imagine if we got one beat and every single person — me, this guy, this guy, all these guys — had to do a song on that one beat. So sometimes I’ll pick a beat that’s a bit, like, sunnier, I guess is the word you used, than usual, and I just try my hand at it. And that’s kind of what ‘Hotline Bling’ was. And I loved it.
