Fat Joe collaborator Rico Love recently hit up SOHH to discuss co-executive producing the Terror Squad leader’s new album J.O.S.E. Part II and why the rapper should be respected as “hip-hop royalty.”

In addition to providing production, Love is a featured emcee on Fat Joe’s current single “Aloha.”

“It was an amazing experience working with Joe on the ‘Aloha’ record, as well as being involved creatively on the entire album,” he explained. “Fat Joe is hip-hop royalty and he withstood the test of time. Seems like just yesterday I was watching his videos on television and now I’m in a video with him. That’s a great feeling. I’m honored.” (SOHH)

Joe previously spoke about the album’s motivation with radio personality Jenny Boom Boom last winter.

“I’ve just been making that hit mania…It just feels big. My first album Jealous Ones Still Envy was my biggest album and I haven’t did no album to this day that I felt I made music as big as that. So I just went hit mania on this one right here. It feels great.” (Jenny Boom Boom)

The rapper’s new LP has also struck a cord with 50 Cent who taunted it in a series of videos.

“Yo, what’s up, this is 50 Cent, I just wanna thank everybody for showing their support with all the ‘Get Well’ wishes I got from ThisIs50.com,” Fif said in a video. “Yesterday, I listened to Fat Joe’s record, and it hurt me. And I told you people, not to listen to his music, and some people didn’t listen. And look what happened. Young Buck tried to ride his motorcycle after listening to Fat Joe’s record and look what happened…The skate boarders. The people riding their bikes. There’s people playing the music trying to work out. It’s terrible. [crying] Fat Joe’s record is the worst thing to ever happen to hip-hop. And it hurts, it hurts bad because I love hip-hop. I don’t know what else to say, I mean, everywhere. This is happening all over the place, and it’s because his music sucks so bad. It’s gonna kill people. Don’t listen to it, please, please.” (YouTube)

Rico Love also revealed a few R&B projects he has in the works.

“I’m currently working on Jamie Foxx‘s project and I wrote his lead single for the album entitled “Straight To The Dance Floor.” I just finished Mario‘s album, for which I wrote five songs including his current single “Thinking About U,” and I did five songs on Usher‘s forthcoming album as well. I also wrote Beyonce‘s current single “Sweet Dreams.” And I wrote the first single for Leighton Meester entitled “Somebody,” plus I’m also working on Diddy‘s Last Train to Paris album. And I’m starting Pleasure P‘s new album. Staying busy!” (SOHH)
