[After revealing rap star Eminem's "Rap God" inspired his new "NRG" anthem, former Ruff Ryders member Drag-On talks to SOHH about his respect for hip-hop.]
There’s a lot of artists out there that I respect. There’s a lot of artists that I don’t respect but there’s a lot of artists out there that I ‘do’ respect.
I respect people like DMX. I respect people like The LOX. I respect people like Eminem. I respect people like Jeezy. I respect people like Kendrick Lamar. I respect B.o.B. The list goes on. I respect Yo Gotti. Rick Ross. Meek Mill. There’s a lot of artists I respect, so I get inspiration from all over.
I’m a real fan of hip-hop. Anybody doing real good in hip-hop, that inspires me. I could just be looking at an interview from a certain artist that I might not even like but his interview might even inspire me to get it in.
I keep my ear to the street.
