“Everyday Struggle” host Akademiks might have a little smoke for Vic Mensa. The hip-hop personality has low-key taken direct aim at the Roc Nation rapper on a new song teaser.

Promoted as “Trap American” off an upcoming parody album, Akademiks makes no effort to deliver a subliminal and directly calls out Mensa on a 15-second teaser.

“On the keys I’m the best/My hittas they catchin’ L’s/Group chat we the winners side/Chat n*ggas we blessed – on interviews, we up next/Vic Mensa upset/Always chilling on-set/Thots breaking in half”

According to reports, Akademiks and Mensa’s issues date back to a 2017 “Everyday Struggle” interview.

Mensa and Akademiks’ issues came to the forefront when the Roc Nation artist was a guest on Everyday Struggle last year. During a heated exchange, Mensa expressed that he felt Akademiks built a following by sensationalizing and making light of the violent state of the Chicago scene. “I wanted to slap you in your face,” he stated when the question came up. This week, “Everyday Struggle” has appeared to flirt with a few different replacements for ex-host Joe Budden.

In mid-December, buzz developed over Joe Budden dipping from “Everyday Struggle” for undisclosed reasons.

Lately, Complex’s daily show Everyday Struggle has replaced Joe Budden with special guests for what many assumed would be a temporary leave while Budden takes focuses on his newborn baby. But the rapper took to Twitter to cite “internal chaos” as the reason for his absence, and on Tuesday (Dec. 19), Complex confirmed to Billboard that Budden has officially departed from the show. “Joe Budden is not continuing as a host on Everyday Struggle in 2018,” Complex told Billboard. “The show will be back in the New Year with all new episodes and guests. We wish Joe all the best and thank him for a great 2017.” (Billboard)
