Fox’s hit “Empire” television show is back on the rise after taking a downward spiral in ratings the past few weeks.
According to reports, the ratings slip came to an end this past Wednesday (October 21).
Breaking a 3-week ratings decline and seeing its first uptick of its second season, the Lee Daniels and Danny Strong co-created Fox blockbuster was back last night with a 2% rise among adults 18-49 from the final numbers of its October 14 show. Impressive enough against the MLB Playoffs, which have chewed into Empire’s numbers the past few weeks, the series is up 4% fast nationals-to-fast nationals and could see an adjustment later today. According to reports, “Empire” pulled in big ratings numbers but significantly less than previous weeks with its fourth episode.
While easily the top-rated show of the night and helping Fox to win the night with a 3.0/10 rating and 8.59 million viewers, Empire saw a 8% decline among adults 18-49 and was down 6% in viewers to 12.2 million. And, remember, like last week, we could see an adjustment for Empire in later numbers. Empire lead-in, freshman Rosewood (1.4/5), took a much bigger tumble with an 18% fall in 18-49s. (Deadline)
50 recently released an Instagram picture where he downplayed assertions of blasting “Empire” for a ratings decrease due to having a gay storyline.
The recap is false. The total number of viewers was not 8.59 million. Get better sources. That number refers to the Houehold ratings. The number of viewers and ratings have never been that low this season. The rating was a 4.8. The garbage that you posted came from ignorant blogger Sandra Rose and not Deadline.
lol haa true. The actual article that Sandra Rose cited also said 12.2 million viewers but in her post she said 8 million, it’s like she either can’t read or she did that on purpose to bash the show.
