Fox’s hit “Empire” television show reportedly suffered another decline in ratings for a fourth straight week last night (October 14) but managed to still pull in millions of viewers.
According to reports, “Empire” is pulling in big numbers but less than previous weeks.
While easily the top-rated show of the night and helping Fox to win the night with a 3.0/10 rating and 8.59 million viewers, Empire saw a 8% decline among adults 18-49 and was down 6% in viewers to 12.2 million. And, remember, like last week, we could see an adjustment for Empire in later numbers. Empire lead-in, freshman Rosewood (1.4/5), took a much bigger tumble with an 18% fall in 18-49s. (Deadline)
G-Unit boss 50 Cent recently released an Instagram picture where he downplayed assertions of blasting “Empire” for a ratings decrease due to having a gay storyline.
A now-deleted Instagram post showing 50 calling out the hit Fox series made its rounds across social media earlier this month.
According to reports, “Empire” lost just over 2 million viewers and roughly a 20 percent drop of its premiere-episode adults 18-to-49 in comparison to its season two opener a few weeks ago.
According to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, “Empire” averaged a 5.5 in the all-important demo, which marked an 18% drop from the preliminary 6.7 notched by the season premiere. For what it’s worth, most shows tend to drop between 15% and 20% between their first and second broadcasts. (Ad Age)
