Aside from Cookie, the Jamal Lyons is probably the best story line Empire has. Jamal Lyons is a recording artist who is secretly gay to the public. Prior to later coming out during a performance, Jamal wanted to come out but his father didn’t accept it and didn’t believe his audience would accept it either.
