Fox’s “Empire” show is back on top after suffering a series low in ratings last week by bringing in over 11 million viewers Wednesday (December 2) night.

According to reports, “Empire” brought in 11.2 million people for its mid-season finale.

The drama rose 38 percent with Wednesday’s episode, averaging a 4.4 rating among adults 18-49. Among total viewers, the show was up by nearly 2 million viewers to 11.2 million. On Thanksgiving Eve, Empire tumbled to a same-day score of just a 3.2 rating in the key demo. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Last week, “Empire” brought in 9.1 million viewers.

While these numbers don’t seem especially tragic, this proved to be up to 30% lower than the previous week’s episode. Despite boasting a guest appearance by Rosie O’Donnell as a figure from Cookie’s prison past, it seems that the big travel day (as well as busiest bar night of the year) skewered the normally glorious ratings of Empire. Last month, “Power” star 50 Cent reacted to his show’s rival suffering season-low ratings.

According to reports, “Empire” brought in just over 11 million viewers a few weeks ago.

The Fox drama, still handily the No. 1 show of the night, dropped four-tenths of a point in the key demo to a season-low 4.2 rating among adults 18-49. Empire’s overall audience was less humbled, relatively steady with 11.2 million viewers. (The Hollywood Reporter)
