According to reports, gamers pre-ordering the new Call of Duty title will receive a special discount on Em’s latest solo offering.

Both Call of Duty: Ghosts and Eminem’s new The Marshall Mathers LP 2 are releasing on November 5th, so to celebrate the hype surrounding both releases, fans will get a discounted offer on the latter. In collaboration with GameStop, anyone who pre-orders Ghosts at the retailer will get a code to download a special edition of The Marshall Mathers LP 2 featuring an exclusive, bonus studio track at a special discounted price of $8.99. Slim Shady also confirmed the big news with a statement on his unexpected power move.

“The energy and intensity of ‘Survival’ really matches Call of Duty: Ghosts. I’m excited to continue to be a part of the franchise.” said Eminem, whose “Survival” track was featured in the game’s multiplayer reveal trailer. Later this month, a music video trailer featuring the song and Ghosts’ gameplay will debut. “Call of Duty is the ultimate adrenaline rush. It’s the intensity and heart-pounding excitement you feel as the action unfolds. And Eminem embodies this same spirit and captures this in his music,” said Activision CMO Tim Ellis. (Game Zone)

Recently, an Activision executive revealed the company’s upcoming title’s pre-orders were lower than past years.

Last month, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg was quite clear that pre-orders for Ghosts were “well below the record-setting pace set by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 last year.” “Our quantitative consumer research indicates that hesitation amongst past COD pre-orderers is primarily due to not knowing which platform they will be playing on, which is natural at this time in the console transition,” said Hirshberg recently, referring to the imminent launches of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Slim Shady’s recent Call of Duty: Ghosts “Survival” track surfaced online in mid-August.

Please pardon the interruption but something other than Kendrick Lamar is happening in hip-hop. Today, we get to finally hear some new music from Eminem. It’s a song called “Survival” and it’s featured as background music for the new Call of Duty: Ghosts trailer. Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg announced earlier this year that the Detroit rapper would be releasing an album in 2013, and after receiving “Survival,” it’s clear they’re on schedule to execute that plan. There’s no word yet on whether “Survival” will be included on his upcoming album. However, this is a similar move he made back in 2010 with Recovery, where the Pink-assisted “Won’t Back Down” was used for the Call of Duty: Black Ops trailer. Either way, get hyped. (Complex)
