Grammy-winning rapper Eminem just can’t take an L. Slim Shady’s new Revival album has helped him reach mogul status.
According to reports, Em is the first musician with nearly 10 straight chart-topping albums.
His latest album Revival has debuted at the number 1 spot on Billboard 200 chart with 267k moved in the first week. With this, he has become the first artist in history to have 8 consecutive albums debuting at the top spot on the chart. 197k copies out of the total came from pure sales which is really impressive in this streaming dominated climate. The rap star’s Revival album had initially debuted atop the music charts in the United Kingdom.
With little promotion and even less warning that a new collection was coming as quickly as it did, Eminem has debuted his new album Revival at No. 1 in the U.K., which is an accomplishment he has managed many times now. According to the Official Charts Company, the newly-released record kicks off with an impressive 132,000 equivalent copies, which is an especially large sum for the country. (Forbes)
Along with the big sales news, Em is speculated to perform at next year’s Coachella music festival in California.
Detroit rap icon Eminem, pop music queen Beyoncé, and R&B crooner The Weeknd are set to headline the 2018 edition of Coachella, industry sources tell Consequence of Sound. America’s preeminent music festival returns for its 19th edition on April 13th-15th and April 20th-22nd at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. An official lineup announcement is expected in early January coinciding with the on sale of tickets. (Consequence of Sound)
Last week, Em received some unexpected shade courtesy of President Donald Trump‘s son.
It’s a bit odd that he’s admitting to having prepared heavily to take on a 70 year old politician. Probably not the best look. So much for freestyle. #WillTheRealLoserPleaseStandUp https://t.co/suToF4D193
